Lowther Castle has a lovely garden, with plenty of space for children to run about in, there is also a huge adventure playground.  The castle itself, for the most part, is a ruin, though there is a small indoor area.

You can buy lunch here in the cafe, though I think we will bring a packed lunch and a picnic rug.

There is a large car park at the castle.

There is a cafe at the castle, however if you don't wish to purchase drinks or snacks the please bring your own drinks and snacks and lunch.  There is plenty of space for picnicking in the castle gardens.

Pushchairs:  the castle, gardens and play parks are pushchair (single and double) friendly.

Depending on the weather please bring warm clothes, waterproofs, suitable footwear etc or if it is hot, sunscreen and a sun hat etc will be required.

There are toilets in the castle.

Lottery Funding

We have a small amount of lottery funding, so we will buy either an ice cream, or a drink and a cake for people who attend the event.
